HPWH Pilot: Tools and Templates from San Mateo County
In anticipation of increased heat pump water heater installations in the Bay Area, BayREN funded a pilot in San Mateo County to design and test permitting simplifications. Eight jurisdictions in San Mateo County piloted streamlined permitting approaches for HPWHs. BayREN documented results, lessons learned, implementation strategies, and practical tools to help jurisdictions improve permitting processes. Resources are being released on a rolling basis, as they become available.
